Melanie Dunlop

Melanie Dunlop is a Nurse Practitioner with the Acquired Brain Injury Program at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation and Arthritis Centre and the Bedford Neurocommons. In this role, she provides comprehensive post-stroke care to individuals living with stroke and acquired brain injury across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. Her clinical practice focuses on secondary stroke prevention, management of post-stroke complications, rehabilitation support, care coordination, and supporting individuals and families throughout recovery and community reintegration.

Since 2019, Melanie has served as a Research Coordinator with the CanStroke Recovery Trials Platform, supporting multi-site stroke rehabilitation research and clinical trials across Canada. She is also a PhD candidate in the School of Nursing at Dalhousie University, where her research focuses on clinician engagement in stroke rehabilitation research and strategies to strengthen research capacity within healthcare organizations. Her scholarly interests include implementation science, clinician participation in research, advanced nursing practice, workforce development, and improving access to evidence-informed stroke care.
